The Tallest Tree
poema de kanefowler
In the garden of my childhood years,
You were the shade that calmed my fears.
A steady hand when the world felt wide,
With nothing to fear with you by my side.
You taught me how to stand up tall,
To find my footing should I fall.
Not just with words, but by what you do,
A quiet strength, honest and true.
The miles may grow, the years may fly,
Underneath the same big sky.
But no matter how far I happen to be,
You’ll always be the tallest tree.
